Privacy policy
This site is a brochure for one holiday house. It has no accounts, no forms, no shopping basket and no newsletter, so there is very little to say here — but what there is, is worth saying plainly.
Nothing is collected by this website
No cookies are set. No analytics or tracking scripts run. Nothing is written to your browser’s storage. There is no form to fill in, so there is no way for you to hand this site personal information even if you wanted to.
The only third party this site can reach is Google, and only if you click the map to load it. Everything else — the photographs, the fonts, the two small scripts that run the photo viewer and the map button — is served from this domain.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like every web host, Netlify records ordinary request information when a page is served — the IP address the request came from, the time, the page requested, and the browser’s user-agent string. That happens at the server, not in your browser, and it is a normal part of delivering a website and keeping it available. Those logs are held by Netlify under its own privacy terms, and are not used here to build any profile of you.
Google loads only when you ask it to
The location section shows a still placeholder with a button rather than an embedded map. Until you click that button, no request goes to Google and Google is told nothing about your visit.
If you do click it, an embedded Google map loads, and at that point your browser contacts Google directly. Google receives your IP address and whatever its own cookies and terms allow, exactly as if you had opened Google Maps yourself. That is Google’s processing, under Google’s privacy policy, not ours — which is precisely why it is behind a click instead of loading for everyone.
You can see the address on the page without ever loading the map.
Bookings happen somewhere else
There is no booking engine here. Every booking button sends you to Airbnb, Booking.com, LekkeSlaap or Vrbo, and the reservation, the payment, the messages and the personal details all live with that platform. Once you follow one of those links, that platform’s privacy policy governs what happens next, and this site neither sees nor stores any of it.
This site is not told whether you booked, or which platform you used.
Email and WhatsApp
The page lists an email address and two WhatsApp numbers. If you use them, the hosts hold whatever you send — your message, your email address or phone number, and anything you choose to tell them — for as long as it is useful to answer you and to host your stay. It is used to reply to you and nothing else: it is not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not passed to anyone who is not involved in your stay.
Email to hello@bella-casa.co.za is carried by the domain’s mail provider, and WhatsApp messages are carried by WhatsApp, each under its own terms. Ask at any time and the hosts will delete the correspondence they hold.
Access, correction and complaints
South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to the Information Regulator. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you comparable rights.
The website itself still holds nothing, so a request about the site has nothing to return. Where your information does exist, it is in one of two places. If you have stayed at the house or enquired through a platform, the records sit with Airbnb, Booking.com, LekkeSlaap or Vrbo, and a request is best made there. If you have written to the hosts directly, by email or WhatsApp, they hold that conversation, and you can ask them to delete it.
Asking about any of this
Questions about this policy, or a request to see or delete what the hosts hold, can go to hello@bella-casa.co.za, or by WhatsApp to Elsa or Karina.
The property is Bella Casa, 40 Truter Street, Robertson, Western Cape, 6705, South Africa. Elsa hosts it, with Karina co‑hosting; between them they are the responsible party for the purposes of POPIA.
If this policy changes
If the site ever starts doing something that affects your privacy — analytics, a contact form, an embedded booking calendar — this page will say so before it ships, and the date at the foot of the page will change. There is no archive of earlier versions; the page history is public in the site’s repository.
